Training session on iGUESSMED integrated pest management protocols. Gabes (Tunisia). 13 December 2023
CRRHAB organized a training course about Insect and pest management in tomato greenhouses developed within the iGUESSMED project for 20 among engineers, technicians, and qualified workers of the demo-pilot iGUESSMED commercial greenhouse “Maison de l'Oasis”, a Tunisian-Dutch tomato exporting company located in Gabes. Prof. Asma Laarif presented a summary of the iGUESSMED project to the participants and then explained the principles and components of iGUESSMED integrated pest management program. After that, Dr. Thameur Bouslama presented the main tomato insect pests and the means of their control. Subsequently, samples of tomato leaves and fruits were shown to the participants to know the symptoms of the beginning attacks and how intervene in time. Certificates of participation were distributed to the participants.



She is a researcher in plant protection and specialist in insect pests of crops at the Regional Research Center on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture in Tunisia (CRRHAB).
His research axes are insect ecology, biology, laboratory rearing, IPM and biocontrol using microorganisms and botanicals.
Prof. Asma Laarif (CRRHAB)

Researcher in Plant and Environmental Protection and Plant Production Engineer. Has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the iGUESSMED project in CRRHAB. His research interests are integrated pest management (IPM), which emphasizes biological control and mathematical modeling of pest populations' occurrence and population densities.
